The Jaska Group was awarded a contract to design, supply and install sound barriers around new roof top mounted cooling towers and humidifier for the Coles St Ives store upgrade.

The job required panels to be designed to accommodate high quality Rockwell sound proofing but at the same time addressing weight and size constraints to enable manual handling as there was no provision available for heavy lifting equipment.

The Jaska Group designed panels that were manufactured from galvanized sheet steel of a size and shape to suit Rockwell product and faced with a 50% perforated grid.

The size and weight was such that the panels able to be manually carried with relative ease along the roof top walkway

The panels were mounted on engineering certified structural aluminium frames to form free standing walls around the humidifier and cooling towers.

The project was completed on time and on budget.

The panels installed caused a reduction of the sound levels from 90 decibels to 45 decibels, a significant 50% reduction.
